What You Live With Doesn't Have Words Yet

Someone asks what happened to you, and you go to answer.

What shows up is a picture. There’s no sentence attached to it.

So you give the short version, the one that fits inside a conversation.

And you watch it land as something much smaller than what you live with.

Years of explaining, and the thing itself has never once been said out loud.

What You Want Is to Feel Human Again

You’ve been through so much, and the relief you’re desperately after still hasn’t shown up.

Trying hasn’t stopped. Some days it doesn’t feel like it counts for anything.

The tiredness has nothing to do with sleep. Sleep isn’t coming either.

Underneath all of it is a plainer want: to feel human again.

The thing you can't say out loud is the thing we build a plan around.

EMDR Works Without Making You Explain It

EMDR speaks to your body and your mind.

Your brain does the processing while your eyes or your hands do something simple and rhythmic. None of it depends on you producing the right sentence.

The images stay images. You won’t be asked to translate them for me.

And you run it. EMDR puts the pace, the pause, and the stop in your hands.

Your Past Stops Dictating How You Live

We can't erase what happened to you, but it doesn't have to dictate your life anymore.

  • Say what happened without needing perfect words for it.
  • Notice a reminder arrive and keep doing what you were doing.
  • Let the event become merely a memory.
  • Feel love and know that you're worthy of it.
  • Find the part of this that made you stronger.

Underneath the pain is your power, your truth, your resilience.

We Build Your Plan Before We Approach It

  1. 1

    We Name What Happened

Information, events, history, the story. We name what's there without digging into it. We need a plan of attack before we approach it.

    The battle plan comes first.
  2. 2

    We Get You Ready

Positive coping skills, a support system you can actually reach, and boundaries that hold once the work starts.

This is hard. You'll be ready.
  3. 3

    We Go In

Ready to face the thing head on. One thing at a time, we pay attention to the incident and honor you.

    You are not your trauma.

Why Trust Me as Your Partner in Healing

Twenty Years in the Hard Rooms

Before private practice I spent roughly twenty years in residential, inpatient, and intensive outpatient care.

Very little of what you bring is going to surprise me.

Trained Specifically for This

I'm trained in EMDR and in trauma-focused CBT, and my Simmons doctorate went deep on trauma.

My DBT certification is what puts real skills into the second phase, before any of the harder work begins.

Picking a trauma therapist should never be a leap of faith.

With over two decades of dedicated clinical practice across high-acuity residential programs, outpatient centers, and private practice, I’m a doctorate-level clinical social worker and traumatologist.

Five of those years were spent with adolescents in residential care, which is where I learned that a guarded kid will tell you the truth eventually, but only on their own schedule.

The doctorate came later, once I wanted to change the conditions clinicians work in as well as the work itself. Private practice came after that, and it’s where I’ve wanted to be the whole time.

Frequently Asked Questions

That’s a large part of what EMDR is for.

We can work from the image, the feeling, or the piece you can point at, and no clean account is required.

No. The first phase names what’s there and builds the plan.

We don’t approach the memory until that plan and the support around it are in place.

You didn’t waste those years, and you won’t be starting over here.

EMDR speaks to your body and your mind at once, which is a different door into the same material.

You don’t have to call it trauma for me to take it seriously.

Bring what’s been affecting you and we’ll figure out together what we’re actually working with.

Then you’ve spared yourself the wrong therapist.

A clear no from you after fifteen minutes is a good outcome, and I’d rather have that than a polite yes.
